Mini (ghetto) Photo Setup

I had a spark of inspiration for a photo setup suitable for macro, detail photography. I rushed it together, so it's pretty ghetto, but I think it's pretty cool. Here's the setup:

So, that's two diffuse IKEA lamps serving as the backdrop, the item, then a halogen IKEA desk lamp serving as the front light. I used my blue iTunes gift card as a light bounce, to help correct the extremely yellow white balance provided by the backdrop. And here's a sample of the result:

Note that I do not have a macro lens, and thus the results aren't as crisp as I would have liked.

I then tested this setup on my mother's ring. Despite not having a macro lens, I think the setup performed admirably:
